Ed specialises in all aspects of intellectual property and commercial contracts, with a particular focus on entertainment law and new media. He acts for a number of leading rights-owners and entertainers, and advises on a broad range of music contracts, including recording, publishing, management and touring agreements. He also works closely with the firm’s Corporate Group on acquisitions and joint ventures in the media sector.
Before qualifying as a solicitor Ed worked in the music industry. As a member of the band D-Influence, Ed recorded four albums, toured with Michael Jackson and Prince and won a MOBO award for best live act. As founder of his own production company, Ed also won a MOBO award for best producer and produced several hits, including platinum records with Seal and Shola Ama. Ed is currently co-writing a new edition of the Intellectual Property and Media Law Companion for Tottel Publishing.
