Eleanor is a commercial litigator by training. Her experience of dispute resolution is wide-ranging, encompassing defamation, privacy and broadcasting disputes, as well as employment, contractual, professional negligence, minority shareholder, debt recovery and real estate disputes.
Prior to joining Michael Simkins LLP, Eleanor worked for Ofcom, the UK communications regulator. Whilst at Ofcom, Eleanor worked on the majority of the high-profile sanctions imposed on broadcasters in 2008 in respect of unfair conduct of viewer and listener competitions and votes. She has extensive experience of Ofcom’s procedures for handling sanctions, as well as its procedures for handling complaints from those who have participated in programmes. Eleanor has a thorough understanding of the compliance issues that affect broadcasters and is able to provide practical advice as to how best to ensure compliance and avoid regulatory or legal action being taken.
