Oliver specialises in commercial litigation with particular emphasis on the financial services and media and entertainment sectors.  He advises on contractual disputes, professional negligence claims, insolvency matters, shareholder disputes and fiduciary and directors’ duty claims.  He also deals with intellectual property disputes and has substantial experience in defamation, data protection and privacy law.  Oliver has been involved in a large number of cases involving anonymous unlawful activity over the internet including insider dealing, market abuse, fraud, passing off and defamation.

Oliver’s clients include many leading FTSE 250 public companies including an international financial services group, a successful inter-dealer broker and a UK wide leisure group.  He represents many independent fund managers and stock brokers as well as a diverse range of AIM-listed companies.  He also acts for national newspapers, magazines and a national radio station.  He has worked closely with Russian lawyers and clients over recent years, particularly in the energy, real estate and media sectors.
