Mark is a highly experienced employment lawyer and leads our employment team. He handles the full range of employment issues and his areas of expertise include:
- Appointments and terminations, including advice on the protection of the employer’s business.
- Restructurings, downsizings, employment change programmes and the implementation of changes to terms and conditions.
- Advice on all aspects of industrial relations with extensive experience of advising clients in unionised environments on strategies for negotiating with and consulting trade unions.
- The defence, mediation and settlement of employment tribunal claims and grievances.
- All aspects of discrimination.
- The employment aspects of corporate and property transactions.
Clients for whom Mark acts include listed companies, Fortune 500 companies and smaller owner-managed businesses, in industries such as retail, outsourcing and financial services as well as media/sports.
In the media/sports sector Mark has advised employers, senior executives and artists on a range of issues. His advice has included advising one of the major record companies on a significant restructuring exercise; advising a world famous rock star on the successful defence of a sexual harassment case and advising a premier league football club on its manager’s high profile move, in 2010, to another premier league football club.
